FIRST in the Kansas City Region (Kansas and Western Missouri) is seeking an individual from the FIRST community to work closely and collaboratively with local Program Leaders to provide critical support to FIRST . Learn More.  On average, the FIRST Senior Mentor devotes 10-15 hours per week, receives a payment of $600 per month, and is reimbursed for approved expenses up to $4200 per year.  If you have an interest, please contact Laura Bauer at bauerlb@kcstem.org or 913-515-0343.

KC STEM Alliance is pleased to announce that Christina Chandler has joined our team by accepting the position of FIRST LEGO League and FIRST LEGO League Junior Partner for the Kansas City region.  Christina brings over 8 years of experience working with FIRST teams of all four programs.  She has worked in the Center and KCMO School Districts for 10 years in Information Technology, teaching, and Career and Tech administration.  Christina has an expertise in creating and building sustainable programs that allow students to be aligned with what they are passionate about so they are fully engaged in their learning and preparing for their future.

Christina has a Master's Degree in Career and Technical Leadership from UCM and a Bachelor's in Education from Graceland University.  She also holds numerous education certificates.

As FLL and FLL JR Partner, Christina will support FLL and FLL JR teams.  She will implement FLL and FLL JR workshops, community events, FLL qualifying tournaments and the championship tournament, as well as FLL JR Expo and Showcase opportunties.

Christina follows Gretchen Neis in this position who brought our region to a new level of excellence in her 4 years with KC STEM Alliance.
